Week 8

Our Excursion: What a wonderful day was had by all. The children heard and saw and collected a wonderful array of water creatures, looked at and felt lots of plants and experienced hot/dry and hot/wet environments. They were very well behaved and gained a lot of information about plants and animals. Thankyou to our wonderful parents who came along to help on the day. Your involvement and extra eyes are such a benefit to all the students and teachers.

Talk time: This week, the children have started presenting their talk time. Please ensure your child is prepared for their day. The note should provide you with all the details necessary. This is not meant to be scary for your child - just an opportunity to give them experience at preparing a talk and speaking in front of a group about a familiar topic. Please reassure your child that they will be praised for their efforts.

Homework contract: Due to the children having excursion this week and cross country carnival this Friday, I decided to exclude the contract this week so the children could just work on their spelling and reading. Due to the carnival on Friday their homework folders will be due on Thursday.

Have a wonderful week,
Cheers Mrs. Calvert

Welcome....

Welcome to our Year One's first official blog. Our teacher is Mrs. Calvert, who is ably assisted by Mrs. Loughrey, Mrs. Cook and Mrs. Agostino. We have library lessons with Mrs. Gralton, music lessons with Mrs. Hogan and Physical Education with Mr. Body. We have a gifted group of parents who are always willing to help share their expertise in our classroom.  As they say 'Many Hands Make Light Work'. We are working hard in our classroom to live the 'Seven Habits' everyday and be 'Habit People'. We are trying to learn as much as we can each and everyday. Hope you can get back to our blog soon.... to keep up to date with what we have been up too. Cheers Mrs. C.
